A graduate of California State University, Northridge with a Bachelor’s in Jazz Studies, he led university jazz combos to multiple 1st-place wins at the Reno and Monterey Jazz Festivals and earned the “Best College Performer” award at the Reno Jazz Festival.
As a Los Angeles pianist, Mike has shared the stage and recording studio with world-renowned jazz legends including Bennie Maupin, Charnett Moffett, Alphonso Johnson, Sue Raney, John Daversa, Louis Cole, Darek Oles, Gary Pratt, Walter Smith III, David Binney, Bob Reynolds, Bob Sheppard, Gene Coye, Rick Braun, Dave Koz, and Engelbert Humperdinck.
